Prototyping Bureau
CDG offer a full prototyping bureau service for clients wanting to outsource parts and models.
Equipment
The equipment we have in our offices includes:
- Z650, Z510, Z450 colour and monochrome 3D printers
- Z150, Z310 monochrome / white 3D printers
- ZBuilder Ultra for plastic prototype models
- Sand blasting booth
- Spray booth
- Wax tank
- ...and much more!
Size
We can produce almost any size of object from a tiny plastic part less than 1mm thick, to a plaster model over 1m in length or diameter. The maximum dimension in a single print is 380mm, so anything larger than this is built up in segments. We can go even larger than 1m by machining the model in modelboard, eps or pu.
Delivery
Standard delivery timescales are 3-5 days. More urgent projects can be undertaken for a slight increase in the cost. Timesacales for larger or more complex projects will be quoted on specification.
Post processing
In addition to printing models we can offer:
- To bond or join segments together
- To rub down for smooth surfaces
- Paint or lacquer finish
- Sand blasting
- Wax finish
Quotations
To quote for a project we will need the following information:
- Ideally an STL file
- Otherwise VRML, PLY, 3DS, IGS, STP or or other 3D computer file
- The preferred material choice
- The ideal or required timescale
- Anypost processing requirements
- Details about delivery or collection
